Cuneiform characters were pressed into wet clay and widely used to communicate various information, stories, maps, astronomy, religion and trade.
It was perhaps the most significant and remarkable of all cultural contributions by the Sumerians, and enabled us to transform our understanding of history and ancient civilisations.
